Pasona Education Co. Ltd (Headquarters: Hong Kong; Managing Director: Kazumi Matsumoto), an education and training company in Hong Kong, and Pasona Value Creation Institute Inc. (Headquarters: Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture; President: Hiroko Tsuchida) will co-launch the “Awaji Learning Holiday Program” in January 2023, a new Japanese language and local culture residential training program on Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture for intermediate and advanced Japanese language learners living in Hong Kong and abroad.
Hong Kong is one of the regions with the highest interest in Japan tourism, Japanese culture, and Japanese language study, with approximately 2.3 million visitors to Japan in 2019 (Japan National Tourism Organization) before the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the historic depreciation of the Japanese yen has subsequently increased the interest of Hong Kong residents in traveling to Japan.
Since its establishment in 1984 as an educational institution of Pasona Group in Hong Kong, Pasona Education has developed a wide range of programs to support business, including language education, staff training and customer service education, as a leading human resource development company. Pasona Education has provided language training to a total of 184,000 people to date, and has extensive experience and training expertise.
Pasona Education will now launch the "Awaji Learning Holiday Program," in which participants from Hong Kong and other countries abroad will travel to Japan and stay on Awaji Island for approximately three months to study advanced Japanese and local Japanese culture.
In addition to intensive courses for the acquisition of advanced to business Japanese, the program provides opportunities to learn about Japanese culture on Awaji Island and to engage in cultural exchange with the local community. Pasona Education will also hold lectures covering topics such as the characteristics of job hunting in Japan and self-promotion for those wishing to find employment in Japan after completing the program, and assist with employment opportunities by utilizing the Pasona Group's human resource service network.
Through this program, Pasona Education aims to support the career development of global human resources, and at the same time, promote the attractiveness of Japanese culture from Awaji Island to the world.
